Broadcom, Dell Headline Earnings After Labor Day

Investors return from the Labor Day holiday to a shortened but consequential week of earnings, with Broadcom, Dell Technologies and a slate of software companies offering the next test of Wall Street’s enthusiasm for artificial intelligence and enterprise technology spending.

U.S. markets are closed Monday. Earnings resume Tuesday and run through Thursday, before attention shifts Friday to the August employment report.

Broadcom is likely to be the week’s main corporate event. The semiconductor company reports Wednesday after the closing bell and has become an important gauge of AI infrastructure spending because of its custom accelerators and networking chips used by large cloud-computing companies.

Investors will be listening closely for Broadcom’s comments about AI orders, customer spending and visibility into 2027. Its outlook could have implications well beyond its own shares as markets try to determine whether the enormous buildout of AI data centers can maintain its current pace.

Tuesday brings another significant AI-related report when Dell Technologies releases results after the close. Dell has benefited from demand for AI servers, making its order growth and outlook another measure of corporate and data-center investment.

Palo Alto Networks, MongoDB, GitLab and Credo Technology are also scheduled Tuesday, giving investors a broader look at cybersecurity, databases, software development and high-speed data-center connectivity.

Wednesday’s calendar expands beyond Broadcom. Hewlett Packard Enterprise and NetApp will provide additional readings on corporate technology and storage spending, while Snowflake headlines the day’s software results. C3.ai, Five Below and Brown-Forman are also scheduled to report.

Software remains in focus Thursday with results expected from Zscaler, DocuSign, UiPath, Asana and Guidewire.

Lululemon also reports after Thursday’s close. Its results will offer investors a look at premium consumer spending as markets weigh whether households are becoming more cautious.

Friday has few major corporate earnings reports, putting the spotlight on the August jobs report. Investors will be watching employment and wage data for clues about the strength of the economy and the Federal Reserve’s next move on interest rates.

The week’s results come after another strong earnings season for large U.S. companies. With much of the second-quarter reporting cycle complete, the remaining technology reports are less about the overall earnings picture and more about whether two of the market’s biggest themes — AI infrastructure investment and enterprise software spending — remain intact.

For Broadcom and Dell in particular, investors will be looking beyond quarterly earnings to commentary about AI-server demand, data-center capacity, power constraints and whether customers are delaying deployments as increasingly large technology investments move from planning to construction.
